This week I have been trying to follow up on some snippets of songs and poems that I have started in the past but which are not yet finished. Somedays it seems like I wake up and I have a song or a poem on my heart and it just flows so quickly, so polished, and so fast that I can hardly write it down fast enough. I always worry that the words will escape me if I don’t get capture them right away. Other times, I just have the chorus of the song in my mind, or maybe I only have a stanza or two of a poem and nothing else. I learned a long time ago not to fret over those times when the song comes slowly or the poem just seems to putter along. I write down what I do have and I know that at the right time, in His time, God will give me the rest of the words to finish that expression of my heart.
God is good like that in all aspects. And whether it is dabbling with song writing, trying your hand at poetry, or engaging in any other worthwhile pursuit, don’t let the pace of the project disrupt your peace. Just do what you can do now and trust that God will continue to lead you and guide you. He will do it. You can trust Him. I like the way Paul said it in Philippians 1:6, “I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.”
I hope that you have a good week my friend. May God bless you, keep you, and cause His face to shine upon you. May you experience God’s pace and His peace.
