Somebody Listened!

Today I was finally able to get my computer at work fixed.  I was having challenges with the word documents for the last 10 months or so.  Every time I tried to open a document it would take about 45 seconds for the document to open.  It was the same story every time I closed one.  The first tech I talked to said that some “accelerator” had been removed due from our software list due to a new program we were using and that I just had to live with it.  The problem has grown gradually worse over the months and I have mentioned it to other techs when I have called in to the help desk on other issues.  Nobody seemed bothered by it or if they were, they did not have any answers.

During the last few days, a new problem cropped up.  The documents I have been working on have began to shut down and close by themselves and the software had to go into recovery mode.  It would take over two minutes to recover and restart each document. I called our help desk about the issue and this time I was fortunate enough to speak to someone who took the time to listen and was able to help me.  He “remoted in” to my computer and deleted the old word program and reinstalled a new one.  Now with the new software everything is working just like it is designed to do.  I am so glad I finally spoke to someone who listened.  It reminded me of Psalm 116:1 where the psalmist writes:

“I love the LORD, because He hears My voice and my supplications.”  Psalm 116:1

The Lord cares about us and is concerned about the things that trouble us.  He is willing to listen to the things that concern us and He is able to intervene and make a difference in those problem areas of our lives!  What a blessing it is that the Lord is willing to listen and able to help.  You don’t have to feel ignored!  You don’t have to feel helpless or hopeless!  The Lord is able to come into the midst of our situations and resolve any problem.  There is no struggle or obstacle that is too great for His touch.  He can even turn around our lives.  The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old things have passed away; and all things have become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17

The Holy Spirit enters inside of us just like a computer technician remotes into a computer.  But the Holy Spirit does not leave!  He indwells us and empowers and equips us to live a life pleasing unto God.  He helps us to function as we were designed!  Our Lord is so good and so gracious!

About pastorpstephens

I have been blessed to have served as a pastor and to have been involved in other ministries throughout the years. My wife Marta and I have been blessed with a wonderful family that includes our daughter, her husband and their two daughters and our son and his wife. Each of them are very special to us so please keep them all in your prayers. One truth that I always try to share with people I meet is that anything God asks you to do, He will help you to do. God has your back.
