‘Twas the week before Christmas and everyone’s heart
Was broken and sad for families torn apart.
Questions without answers, for who could have guessed
That grief stricken parents would soon lay their children to rest.
Presents unwrapped still sit by the tree,
Never to be opened, Lord how can this be?
Christmas it seems won’t come this year,
How can one recapture the Holiday cheer?
As I pondered these things, the Lord spoke to my spirit,
“Christmas is still coming…don’t you hear it?
The children have passed but they are still living,
They’re with Me now and there’s plenty of giving!
I know what they want and just what they need,
They’ll get the best gifts they’ve ever received!
They’ll have blessings and grace and unspeakable joy,
I got something grand for every girl and boy!
So rest easy My son and don’t worry tonight,
The children are with Me, everything will be all right.”
