“Greater love have no man,
Than he give his life for his friends.”
That’s the kind of sacrifice
Upon which our freedom depends.
The true heroes are not the athletes
Competing in arenas for a show,
It’s the men and women in uniform
Who go where others dare not go.
So as you relax this afternoon
And enjoy your Memorial Day
Don’t forget their sacrifice
And take some to pray
“Lord we thank you for those who have served
And for those who are serving today.
Comfort those who mourn,
And bless them all we pray.”
