Goodwill Toward Men

I love this time of year as we look forward to celebrating Christmas and the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.  I also love hearing about the generosity and kindness of people at this time of year.  It is a time when there are increased efforts to meet the needs of others.  There are drives to provide coats for kids, food for the hungry and many other charitable activities that take place.  When I hear of these acts of love and kindness, I am reminded of Paul’s words in Philippians 2:3 – 4.

Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

At Christmas, as we celebrate God’s gift of love and compassion to us through His Son, we are reminded to share gifts of love and compassion with others.  May we do so abundantly.  And may the generosity, goodwill and kindness shown during the Christmas season continue to be on display in the upcoming year.

About pastorpstephens

I have been blessed to have served as a pastor, a chaplain and to have been involved in other ministries throughout the years. My wife Marta and I have been blessed with a wonderful family that includes our daughter, her husband and their two daughters and our son and his wife and their son. Each of them are very special to us so please keep them all in your prayers. One truth that I always try to share with people I meet is that anything God asks you to do, He will help you to do. God has your back.
