1 Year since my Spinal Fusion

It has been one year since my back surgery and my back is doing great!  I have not had any pain when I run or work out.  I even pulled weeds last week for about an hour and I was able to stand up straight when I was done!  The only difference I would say between my back and a “perfect, never had problems” back is that when it is cold outside and I am out in the cold, or when the weather changes rapidly my back gets a little stiff at the site of the fusion.  All in all my back is doing great.  The Lord has blessed me and it doesn’t even hurt me when I go shopping.

The decision to have the surgery was a very good decision for me.  If I had to do it all over again I would do it.  I would recommend following doctor’s orders very closely and doing your best to stay patient.  The recovery process is lengthy (especially waiting 6 months to pick up grand-babies!) but the time passes soon enough.  Read the earlier posts to get more details.  In the meantime, may God bless each of you and your families.

About pastorpstephens

I have been blessed to have served as a pastor, a chaplain and to have been involved in other ministries throughout the years. My wife Marta and I have been blessed with a wonderful family that includes our daughter, her husband and their two daughters and our son and his wife and their son. Each of them are very special to us so please keep them all in your prayers. One truth that I always try to share with people I meet is that anything God asks you to do, He will help you to do. God has your back.

  1. I was told that I needed one of these but it sounded quite scary! So glad to hear that you have benefitted from it!
