Where Are You Headed?

I went on a road trip last week that lasted about three hours.  The destination was great but the trip getting there was a little nerve wracking.  I have to admit that I am a little bit “directionally challenged”.  I can do okay with East and West and North and South in the NCAA tournament brackets but put me in the woods and ask me about it and I will be in trouble.  Give me a compass and I will probably just break off the crystal face and use it to start a fire like Survivor man and hunker down until somebody comes and rescues my directionally challenged self.  Yes, when it comes to road trips, there are times when I am not sure where I am headed.

If you are headed somewhere for vacation I can give you great recommendations for places to go but I can’t tell you how to get there.  The only place I know for sure how to get to is heaven.  Jesus said in John 14:6

“I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

Christ came and lived the perfect, sinless life.  He performed miracles which affirmed His claim that He is the Son of God.  He was crucified and placed in the tomb.  On the third day He arose again in fulfillment of the Holy Scriptures.  After His resurrection He appeared to more than 500 witnesses at one time (1 Corinthians 15:6).  The Bible says that those who “believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” and shall dwell with Him forever in heaven.  Are you on the right path?  Are you headed to the Kingdom of the Father?  If not you could be.  The Bible says in 1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I spent too much time lost on my last road trip.  Being lost is no fun.  Don’t spend any more of your time lost.  You can know where you are headed today!

“Whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”  Romans 10:13

About pastorpstephens

I have been blessed to have served as a pastor, a chaplain and to have been involved in other ministries throughout the years. My wife Marta and I have been blessed with a wonderful family that includes our daughter, her husband and their two daughters and our son and his wife and their son. Each of them are very special to us so please keep them all in your prayers. One truth that I always try to share with people I meet is that anything God asks you to do, He will help you to do. God has your back.
